Prompting Questions at that can be used at home while reading a nonfiction text. Tell me what we can learn about this text? What is this book mostly about? How do you know? What are the important details about _____in the text? Can you retell the story to a friend? What were the important details that your partner needs to know?
Use questions and prompts such as: Think about what you read and create your own question about an important idea in this text. What is the main idea of this text? Can you find one of the important ideas in this text? Can you find another important idea? Can you tell me how these two events are linked together?
